Where we work
Our work is rooted in the communities we serve. We work alongside families, local authorities and partners across health, education and the voluntary sector to strengthen early years systems and give more children the foundations they need to thrive.

Rooted in communities, focused on lasting change
Every community is different. That’s why we work closely with local families and partners to understand their needs, build on existing strengths and develop support that works for them. By combining local knowledge with national expertise, we’re helping create lasting improvements for children and families across the places where we work.
We’ve been working with families and local partners in Stoke-on-Trent since 2021, building stronger connections between communities, schools and early years services. Beginning in Bentilee and Abbey Hulton, our work has now expanded into Meir and Burslem, helping more families access the support they need.
Working across five local communities, we’re bringing together families, professionals and local organisations to create stronger, more connected early years support. From parent and toddler groups to parental wellbeing initiatives, our work is shaped by the experiences and priorities of local families.
In partnership with Middlesbrough Council, we’re working with families and local organisations to understand the challenges facing young children and identify opportunities for change. Beginning in the Central and Newport wards, we’re using local insight to shape support that helps children thrive.
West Dunbartonshire is home to our first programme in Scotland. We’re working alongside the council, families and local partners to understand the needs of local communities and co-design stronger, more joined-up early years support, helping children get the best possible start in life.
Before Thrive at Five, professionals didn’t talk to each other. Things were being missed all the time. Whereas now we are out there getting the parents and children supported.”
